Chinese Beef and Broccoli
These quick and easy dish has a sweet and rich flavour which goes well with boiled or plain noodles.
Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 10 minutes
Ingredients (serves 2)
250g beef steak
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp fish sauce
1/2 red pepper
1 baby sweetcorn
4 baby broccoli
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
100 ml water
1 chicken stock cube
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp cornflour
To cook
1. Slice steak into thin strips.
2. Fry the steak in the oil with the fish sauce until browned on all sides. Add the red peppers along with the soy, sweet chilli, and hoisin sauces.
3. Add the baby corn, morning glory and broccoli.
4. Mix the stock cube, cornflour and sugar in the water. Add to the pan and simmer for 3 minutes.
5. Serve with boiled rice or plain noodles.
